I just realized why I am so fascinated with the ocean. It is because it never ceases to amaze me! For example: The Pistol Shrimp… This little guy is the gangster of the shellfish world. It hides and waits for its prey to pass by…. then… BAMMM! It snaps its claws together so fast (300 picoseconds, [long enough for light to travel 3.5 inches]) that it shoots out a 8,540°F bubble, instantly stunning its target. Then its time to feast.
